Cardano: IOHK to onboard Fortune 500 companies for adoption in Africa

Published

on

  • Charles Hoskinson plans to bring Fortune 500 companies on board to adopt Cardano (ADA) in Africa.
  • Provided the cooperation with Litecoin is successful, IOHK could aim for interoperability with Bitcoin and Dash.

In a new interview with Forkast.News, IOHK CEO, Charles Hoskinson, provided interesting insights into his strategy for 2021. The Cardano inventor claimed that Fortune 500 companies looking to expand into developing economies in Africa and the Middle East need a faster and cheaper payment system for local transactions. In Cardano, Hoskinson sees the ideal solution, which is why he will “aggressively pursue Fortune 500” to get the largest U.S. companies on board and sell ADA to them as a solution.

A Fortune 500 company needs new tools to be able to get into that market and work with those consumers. We can facilitate that because we’ve been in those jurisdictions, especially Ethiopia, for example, for over three years.

For some time now, Hoskinson has been pointing out the huge potential of the African continent for distributed ledger technology and digital currencies. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimated that the top five fastest growing economies in the world were in Africa.

Accordingly Hoskinson said that there is a growing adoption of cryptocurrencies among young Africans and a lot of interest in Cardano from  African countries. As the IOHK CEO revealed last October, there are already central banks in Central Africa that have approached IOHK and proposed “doing something” in terms of a central bank digital currency (CBDC).

In the interview with Forkast.News, Hoskinson emphasized in this sense that Africa is “ripe for decentralized finance” (DeFi) due to its fragmented economy and underdeveloped banking system. Referencing the recruitment of Fortune500 companies, he stated:

How do you attract the Fortune 500? You do it by saying, ‘Hey, would you like access to the 100 million customers on my platform who now have money and would like to consume your products?’

Will Cardano become the “Ethereum killer” in 2021?

Cardano has carried the “Ethereum killer” label for quite some time. The words could also be followed by great deeds in 2021. Hoskinson , who is a former co-founder of Ethereum, stoked the rivalry with his predecessor project several times last year by pointing out the shortcomings of the Ethereum blockchain and outlining the advantages of the future Cardano Blockchain. After years of research, these will be integrated into the mainnet in 2021 with the Goguen era:

Now, we’re starting to talk about smart contracts [at Cardano]. We’re starting to talk about a lot more use and utility, above and beyond just metadata and store value count. So this is the age of DApps, the age of DeFi. And it’s going to be really exciting to see Cardano explore that and fight for that. […]

All things considered, I think it’s probably the most productive year we’ve ever had. And I look forward to 2021. If we can keep this momentum and extend it, we’re really going to give Ethereum and the rest of these guys a run for their money.

Cardano, however, is not only trying to bridge to the African continent, as Hoskinson pointed out, but within the blockchain world. For example, IOHK is currently working with the Litecoin Foundation to achieve interoperability between blockchains.

If it works with Litecoin, it’s probably going to work with Bitcoin, or Dash, or any of these other guys.

While Cardano is aiming for a future with interoperable blockchains, Hoskinson stressed that cryptography needs to evolve before the advent of quantum computing and quantum technology.

You would like to upgrade your cryptography and start using post-quantum crypto — so cryptography that’s immune to quantum computers — as soon as possible.

As for blockchain technologie, the IOHK CEO believes quantum computers pose no threat. With a “competent blockchain architect,” the threat can be prevented, he said. Instead, Hoskinson predicts “huge problems” for Internet communications:

They’re going to cause huge harm to nation states that are trying to preserve secrets. Also, Satoshi’s private keys can be broken so people can start signing with Satoshi’s PGP Key, if they wanted to.

Cardano price hangs back as ADA bulls gather strength for 23% upswing

Published

on

  • Cardano price performance has been uneventful, as the token lagged behind while Bitcoin and Ethereum recorded new all-time highs.
  • ADA bulls appear to be struggling with the nearest obstacle at the 21 twelve-hour SMA.
  • Only a slice above $2.24 would put the 23% rally on the radar.

Cardano price continues to confuse forecasts ADA teeters between two clearly defined technical levels. Until the Ethereum-killer can overcome the two key areas of resistance, the token can expect a 23% climb toward $2.73.

Cardano bulls ready to tackle next obstacles

Cardano price presents a lack of clear directional bias as it continues to be sealed within a symmetrical triangle pattern on the 12-hour chart. Despite the recent uptick seen in the cryptocurrency market, witnessing Bitcoin and Ether reach new all-time highs, ADA lagged behind.

It appears that Cardano price is gearing up to tackle obstacles, despite the overwhelming strength of the resistances that are currently intimidating the bulls. The first hurdle for ADA is at the 21 twelve-hour Simple Moving Average (SMA) at $2.16. If the Ethereum-killer manages to slice above this level, the next headwind will emerge at the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level, coinciding with the 50 twelve-hour SMA at $2.19.

According to the IntotheBlock’s In/Out of Money Around Price (IOMAP), the aforementioned level of resistance would be a challenging level to crack for the bulls, given that it is the largest cluster recorded by the technical metric, as 226,650 addresses purchased 7.82 billion ADA at an average price of $2.19.

If the buyers manage to slice above this stiff hurdle, would see Cardano price tag the upper boundary of the prevailing chart pattern at $2.24. Breaking above the topside trend line of the triangle would put the 23% climb on the radar for ADA, as the bulls attempt to reach for $2.73.

The bulls’ journey toward the optimistic target would still be tricky, as a resistance line given by the Momentum Reversal Indicator (MRI) has appeared at $2.30, which sits near the 100 twelve-hour SMA acting as a heavy headwind for Cardano price. ADA would also need to clear the $2.36, $2.50 and $2.64, corresponding to the 38.2%, 50% and 61.8% Fibonacci retracement levels, respectively, before reaching the projected target given by the chart pattern.

However, if a spike in sell orders occurs, Cardano price may fall toward the lower boundary of the symmetrical triangle at $2.10 to retest the trend line as support. If this level fails to hold, the bullish outlook may be ruined as ADA may drop toward the 200 twelve-hour SMA at $2.07 and at the same time put a bearish target of a 23% decline at $1.62 on the radar for the Ethereum-killer.

Cardano Price Prediction: ADA poised to break out to $5

Published

on

  • Cardano price was rejected from moving higher against a fundamental Fibonacci retracement level (38.2%).
  • Bulls push higher during the Friday trade session despite solid selling on Thursday.
  • Technical analysis levels remain overwhelmingly bearish, but sellers are unable or unwilling to capitalize.

Cardano price has officially entered a whole month’s worth of increasingly constricted trading ranges. Neither buyers nor sellers have been able to throw any conviction in a single direction. Ichimoku Kinko Hyo levels show Cardano has a clear bearish bias.

Cardano price awaits bullish breakout despite the bearish setup

Cardano price action is a kind of an enigma with regards to the Ichimoku Kinko Hyo system. When an instrument has moved to a position that places it below Senkou Span A, Senkou Span B, the Kijun-Sen and Tenkan-Sen, that instrument often sells off. It will almost always drop within two to three periods if it doesn’t sell off right away. Cardano, however, has not done this.

Cardano is approaching a milestone of having seven consecutive daily closes below the Cloud. Because of the length of time in these bearish Ichimoku conditions and because of any strong push by sellers, Cardano is likely coiled for a bullish breakout. Over the next four days, the bottom of the Cloud rises and becomes thinner until the Kumo Twist on October 27th. Bulls eye any close at or above $1.36 to confirm the beginning of a probable bullish expansion phase.

ADA/USDT Daily Ichimoku Chart

However, Cardano has a technical bearish bias within the Ichimoku Kinko Hyo system, so it is more susceptible to downside pressure than upside potential. Considering there are a large number of Ichimoku levels that Cardano must breakout above to resume a bull market, the current weakness may be enough to cause the bears to step in over the weekend and pounce on Cardano to drive it lower. Failure to hold $1.90 as a support level will likely mean a return to the $1.70 value area.

What’s In-Store For Cardano, Ethereum, MATIC, and 4 More Altcoins

Published

on

The cryptocurrency market traded with mixed results as the market leaders Bitcoin and Ethereum retraced, leading to a loss of 3.45 and 1.18 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, Solana is among the top performers.

Austin Arnold, the host of Altcoin Daily, believes that six big altcoins are poised for massive rallies in the coming year.

Polygon (MATIC)

As per the YouTuber Ethereum layer-2 (L2) scaling solution Polygon (MATIC) is gaining traction following a deal with the $20 billion gaming giant DraftKings.

Arnold quotes Paul Liberman, DraftKings’ head of global product and technology, who explains how the company is positioned itself to develop alongside Polygon in a statement.

“Although The DraftKings Marketplace Is In Its Infancy, We Are Optimistic About The Opportunities That Blockchain, NFTs, Cryptocurrency, And Other Technologies Will Present As We Prepare For Web 3.0 With Polygon And The New Digital Collectibles Breakthroughs Ahead.”

Polkadot

Arnold then examines Polkadot, a decentralised interoperability platform (DOT). He cites a recent tweet from Polkadot founder Gavin Wood, who stated that the DOT treasury currently has slightly under 19 million DOT tokens to sponsor community projects.

Any DOT that is not used is burnt. According to Gavin Wood, the Polkadot treasury is now burning 239,988 tokens every month.

The DOT token is becoming increasingly rare when it is burned or used. The price of DOT has just increased. This could be tied to impending interesting developments, like the upcoming parachain launch and slot auctions, which will also remove DOT from the market.

With the first 11 parachain auctions coming to Polkadot next month, as well as the 100 or so available spots to be filled, Polkadot’s influence in the crypto sector might be boosted, and the multichain system’s rising status could be cemented.

Vechain

The supply chain management protocol VeChain is the third coin Arnold examines (VET). VeChain has announced a cooperation with large logistics business DHL for enterprise NFT (non-fungible token) issuance, according to the trader.

“One Of The First Things Users Will Be Able To Do With This Collaboration With DHL China Is Designed The DHL Mascot And Then Mint It As NFTs On The VeChainThor Blockchain Technology.”

Cardano

The smart-contract platform comes next. Cardano appears to be gaining pace, according to Arnold, after establishing partnerships with television satellite provider DISH and announcing a $100 million investment in Cardano-related projects in Africa.

Simply Put, There Are So Many People In More Developing Areas Of The World That Don’t Have Financial Stability, And That Can Be Changed With Cardano With Blockchain.”

Chainlink

Chainlink, a decentralized oracle network, is another coin on Arnold’s list (LINK). Despite the token’s poor performance in recent months, he feels there is still significant upside for LINK in the market, as partnerships continue to grow month over month, with 84 integrations in September alone.

“I Understand, But Chainlink, In My Opinion, Still Has A Lot Of Room To Expand.” Consider This: Chainlink Already Has A Slew Of Exclusive, High-Profile Collaborations – Google And Oracle, To Name A Few – And Its Technology Is Used By Over 75 Distinct Blockchains, As Well As Several Data Feeds, Including USD [US Dollar] Currency Pairs.

My Speculation Is This: Over These Next Few Years, As DApp [Decentralized Application] Platforms Like Ethereum [ETH], Cardano, Solana [SOL], Polkadot, Elrond [EGLD], Etc. Continue To Fight For Market Share… Chainlink Is Integrating With All Of Them… Something To Think About.”

Ethereum

Finally, the crypto trader believes that Ethereum, the premier smart contract platform, is poised for a massive 2022. He points out that Ethereum developers announced in May-June 2022 that ETH will move to Ethereum 2.0, which will convert the blockchain to a proof-of-stake system.

“Around February 2022, The Code Should Be Ready.” At The Earliest, The Merge To Mainnet, To ETH 2.0, Will Take Place In June 2022. The Year Of ETH Will Be Celebrated Next Year. That’s Where DeFi And NFTs (Networked Financial Technologies) Reside.”
