Ripple, the blockchain and digital payments giant, has unveiled a strategic partnership with Web3 Salon to accelerate innovation in Japan’s growing blockchain sector. The collaboration, announced on June 9, 2025, aims to provide substantial financial and technical support to early-stage Japanese startups building on the XRP Ledger .

A $200,000 Opportunity for Japanese Innovators

Through this initiative, Ripple will offer grants of up to $200,000 per project to promising startups focused on developing blockchain solutions in Japan . The funding comes from Ripple’s XRPL Japan and Korea Fund, which was established as part of the company’s broader $1 billion commitment to growing the XRP ecosystem .

The program specifically targets startups working on practical applications in key areas including:

• Decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions

• Digital payment systems

• Tokenization of real-world assets

• Other innovative XRP Ledger implementations

Beyond financial support, selected startups will gain access to Ripple’s extensive global network of investors, advisors, and technical mentors, providing comprehensive ecosystem integration and long-term business guidance .

Building a Community Through 2026

The partnership extends beyond just funding. Ripple and Web3 Salon will collaborate on four major community events scheduled through March 2026 . These gatherings will feature:

• Startup pitch sessions for early-stage projects

• Educational workshops on blockchain development

• Panel discussions with investors, regulators, and developers

• Networking opportunities with industry leaders

Strengthening Ripple’s Position in Japan

This initiative builds on Ripple’s already strong presence in Japan, where the company has established significant partnerships over the years . Since 2016, Ripple has maintained a strategic relationship with Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings, which uses RippleNet for its SBI Remit cross-border money transfer service .

The collaboration with Web3 Salon, which is backed by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and powered by Asia Web3 Alliance Japan, further solidifies Ripple’s commitment to the Japanese market . By supporting local innovation, Ripple aims to accelerate blockchain adoption across one of Asia’s most important economies.
